On February 1, FRNF had announced a nation-wide indefinite general strike from today if its demands remain unaddressed.
FRNF has been pressing for its demands that include implementation of motions seeking an arrangement for declaring the country a republic and adoption of an all-out proportional system for the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls passed by the special session of house and federal autonomous state with right to self-determination, among others.
An FRNF leader said that the group is ready to hold dialogue with the government if the environment, which guarantees its demands would be fulfilled, is created.
The agitating front comprises of Madhesi Peoples Rights Forum—Bhagyanath Gupta faction, Khumbuwan, Limbuwan,Tamsaling, among other groups.
